Distribution, installation, and troubleshooting of software and licenses via media, online methods, and license servers. Includes both cloud-based and desktop software.

  • Applications Access Request - Request access to applications like:
    • Office computer
    • Duo/VPN/Ivanti Secure Access VPN,
    • Shared Drive Files
    • Gmail/Google Account
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Calendars
    • Mailboxes
    • Zoom
       
    • NOTE:  The following applications must contact the functional area (records, financial aid, student accounts) for access
      • Banner Admin/Workflow
      • Onbase
         
  • Software Support - help with GVSU-supported software
    • Adobe Acrobat
    • Microsoft Office, OneDrive, Teams, Bookings, Forms
    • Report errors while using software
       
  • Software Installation - Request software installation on GVSU owned Windows or Macintosh computers (office computers).
    Software Acquisition Request - procurement for GVSU-supported software licenses:
    • Camtasia – software suite for creating and recording video tutorials and presentations via screencast or a direct recording plug-in to Microsoft PowerPoint.
       
    • Microsoft Project Plan 3 – a project management software product designed to assist a project manager in developing a schedule, assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing the budget, and analyzing workloads.
       
    • Microsoft Visio – a diagramming and vector graphics application.
       
    • SnagIt – screen capture and screen recording software for Windows and macOS.
       
  • Software Purchase Approval -  Software and applications including those provided by an external party, need to be approved by IT prior to purchase. The Information Technology Division will neither install nor support software that has not been approved in advance of purchase and/or lease.  Use this service to review the guidelines for purchasing software with GVSU funds and to request approval.

Costs

  • Camtasia and SnagIt license costs:   In addition to the purchase price for the license, there is an annual maintenance fee charged at the beginning of each fiscal year. The purchase price and annual maintenance fee will be provided as a quote upon ticket submission. The yearly maintenance fee is subject to change each fiscal year.
     
  • Microsoft Visio and Project Plan 3 license costs:   The purchase price will be provided as a quote upon ticket submission. The renewal price is subject to change each fiscal year.
