Hypothesis Blackboard Reporting Dashboard

When to Use?

The Hypothesis Blackboard Reporting Dashboard provides instructors with insights into student annotations and other data across their assignments and courses. The dashboard provides users with the ability to filter and create custom views tailored to their specific reporting needs.

Procedure

Accessing the Dashboard

To access the Hypothesis Reporting Dashboard you will need to launch the dashboard from within a Hypothesis assignment in your Blackboard Course.

  1. Navigate to your Blackboard course.
  2. Open a Hypothesis assignment as an instructor.
  3. In the Hypothesis Sidebar, click on the Account icon (the person icon in the top-right).
  4. Click “Open dashboard."

Hypothesis account icon.

The dashboard will initially open in the assignment view, allowing you to see student data for that assignment, including annotation counts, last activity and if you are using the Auto Grading feature an additional column called “Grade.”

Filtering your Data

To organize and view your data, you can use the dashboard’s filters. These filters will allow you to select Courses, Assignments, and Students.

Importantly, these filters react to each other; selecting a particular student will change the Courses and Assignments filters so that they only allow the selection of courses and assignments that the student has accessed.

Bookmarking your Dashboards to access them faster

After creating a set of filters, you can save that particular View or set of Filters by bookmarking the current URL in your browser. The next time you select that exact URL you will open the same combination of View and Filters.
