Test Status Error

When to Use?

A test status error indicates that LockDown Browser cannot retrieve the necessary settings from the Respondus server in order for a student to begin their exam.

Procedure

The above error typically occurs because of one of the following:

1. The course is either a copy of another course or the test has been migrated into the course from an older one. To resolve this issue instructors should:

  • Navigate to the course in Blackboard.
  • In the Details & Action menu select "Books & Tools".
  • Click on Respondus Lockdown Browser Dashboard.
  • Once the Dashboard opens, the Lockdown Browser settings will automatically update.

2. A test setting has changed which causes an error. To resolve this issue instructors should:

  • Navigate to the course in Blackboard.
  • In the Details & Action menu select "Books & Tools".
  • Click on Respondus Lockdown Browser Dashboard.
  • Once the Dashboard opens, click on the "Fix it" button to correct the error.
