Editing a Panopto Video

When to Use?

This article will walk you through how to make edits to one of your existing Panopto videos.

Procedure

1. Log into Panopto using your GVSU login

A. Locate the video you want to edit and hover your cursor over it
B. Select “Edit”

2. Once you're in the editor, you can scrub through the timeline 

A.To zoom into the timeline, locate the zoom bar on the left of the screen

i. You can use the audio peaks to reference when the video starts and ends

3. To make a cut

A. Put the cursor where you want to start the video on the timeline
B. Hold and drag your cursor over the section you want to cut

i. The highlighted area will show up as light gray

C. Once you have the section you want to be highlighted, release the mouse button

4. To remove/edit a cut 

A. Click the end of the section you want to edit
B. Drag the highlighted area to the left until you get to the new cut you want

i. If you want to cut out a section completely, simply drag the end marker to the left until that section is no longer gray

5. Click “Apply” on the top right of the screen

A. The video will begin to process with your cuts

i. If you make any changes after hitting “Apply”, simply hit “Apply” again to save any changes
