When to Use?
Use this document to assist with the installation of network printers on your device.
Procedure
- Open the GVSU Software application in one of the following ways:
- Select the application from the launchpad (see the first 2 images)
- Press the Shift + Command + A keys at the same time to open the Applications window. Then, find the GVSU Software application listed.


OR


- Using the search bar in the top left corner, enter the building and room number assigned to the printer. For example, if the printer was in the Kindschi Hall of Science & in Room 2290n, you would search for KHS4490.
- Click the Install, Reinstall, or Add button on the printer you wish to install.
- If you don't see the printer listed, you may need to login to the application in the bottom right corner. Then, try again to search for the printer.

- If you still cannot find your network printer, contact the GVSU IT Service Desk to create a ticket for the Desktop Support Team.
- Send a test document to the printer to verify you are able to print successfully.
- The easiest way to do this would be to print a word document or open the print queue and select send a test print
- If you are unable to print to the printer, you should attempt to install or update your printer drivers. If you need assistance with this, you can reference our documentation called Installing drivers on a Macintosh.
Sending an Official Test Print:
- Click on the Apple Icon in the top left corner of the screen then click on the System Settings field.

- Click on the Printers & Scanners sub-menu at the bottom of the System Settings list, then click on the printer you would like to test.

- In the window that opens, select Printer Queue.

- From the top menu bar, select the Printer tab, then select Print test Page.
