Installing Drivers on a Macintosh

When to Use?

Use this document for installing printer drivers on a GVSU imaged Macintosh computer.

NOTE: There is no uninstall button for these drivers. By selecting install or reinstall, you are replacing the current drivers with the new ones.

Procedure

  1. Open the GVSU Software application in one of the following ways:
    • Select the application from the launchpad (see the first 2 images)
    • Search for the application by pressing the command and spacebar keys together at the same time (see the second 2 images).

  1. In GVSU Software's search bar in the top left corner, type in the word driver.
  2. Select which driver to install.
    • The Xerox Drivers should be used when attempting to print to a Xerox-branded printer.
    • The HP Drivers should be used when attempting to print to an HP-branded printer.

  1. Print a test document to confirm things are working properly.

 

Sending an Official Test Print:

  1. Click on the Apple Icon in the top left corner of the screen then click on the System Preferences field.

  1. Click on the Printers & Scanners sub-menu.

  1. Click on the printer you would like to test, then select Open Print Queue.

  1. From the top menu bar, select the Printer tab. Then select Print Test Page.
