Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for students

Description

Request Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for your student account to add an extra layer of security. This added layer of security will help protect your account from unauthorized access by requiring multiple forms of verification.

Remember, with MFA enabled, you’ll need to provide two or more pieces of evidence (your credentials) when logging in to most GVSU resources. These credentials fall into two categories: something you know (such as a password), and something you have (such as your phone).

Eligibility

This service is accessible to all students. Please ensure that you use your student @mail.gvsu.edu account when submitting your request.

How to Access and Use

  1. You can request this service by filling out the form by clicking the "Request Service" button on this page.

  2. MFA setup may take up to 1 hour to complete as the request is synchronized across systems.

    • The second email will inform you once MFA has been set up on your account. It will have a similar title to the first email but will indicate a status change from 'New' to 'Resolved.'
