Password & Login Issue

Description

If you cannot reset the password through the Self-Service website, call the IT Service Desk at 616-331-2101 to reset the password for yourself, for someone else, or a generic account. You must call the IT Service Desk, because they have to verify your identity over the phone. Your identity cannot be verified through chat, email, etc.

This service is available to all Faculty, Staff and Students.

How to Access and Use

Student Password Information

Password expires every 18 months. 

Password Requirements: 

  • Minimum 16 characters and maximum of 50 characters.
  • Contain 3 out of the 4: 
    • 1 uppercase letter
    • 1 lowercase letter
    • 1 number
    • 1 special character: ~ % ^ * _ - | { } [ ] : ' .
  • Cannot contain your name or username. 
  • Can be similar to previous passwords in the paste, but cannot be exactly the same. 
  • DO NOT use spaces. 

Faculty/Staff Password Information

Password expires every 6 months. 

Password Requirements: 

  • Minimum 12 characters (minimum 15 characters for certain secured groups) 
  • Contain 3 out of the 4: 
    • 1 uppercase letter
    • 1 lowercase letter
    • 1 number
    • 1 special character: ~ % ^ * _ - | { } [ ] : ' .
  • Cannot contain your name or username. 
  • Can be similar to previous passwords in the paste, but cannot be exactly the same. 
  • DO NOT use spaces.
