Paper jams: the most frequent causes are
- Read Head or Sheet Deflector not pressed down completely
(These may be lifted to remove sheets stuck along the paper path, and they must be pressed down again, gently but firmly.)
- Paper not fanned and stacked neatly into Input tray, using the Press to Load button
(Pages stick together, or enter crookedly)
- Debris collected on paper path, usually along the front rollers where most of the sensors are located.
(Lift the Read Head and Sheet Deflector, and spray compressed air to clear debris especially along the rollers)
When pages jam, you may lift the Read Head and Sheet Deflector to carefully remove the pages; then reinsert the pages into the Input Hopper.
