Windows Lab/Classroom Computer Login Instructions for Faculty & Staff

When to Use?

This article is for faculty and staff who are signing into Windows lab and classroom computers.

Procedure

  1. Power on or wake up the computer
    • If someone is already signed in, please restart the machine
      • It is possible to sign in without restarting by clicking "Other User", but any already logged in account may be using resources like the webcam which could prevent those resources from working for you (restart the machine if you ever run into this issue)
  2. Type your username followed by @office (i.e., example@office)
  3. Type your password and hit Enter or click the arrow to log in
  • Note: @office is not required to log onto GVSU Mac computers.

What to do if you receive one of the following error messages:

  • “Username or password is incorrect”
    • Carefully re-enter your username@office and password. If the issue persists, we recommend restarting the computer and trying again, resetting your password (especially if you're having trouble signing into other GVSU systems), or calling IT Services at 616-331-2101.
  • “The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to”
    • Call IT Services at 616-331-2101 to unlock your account.
  • “The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship”
