When to Use?
The SCORM Engine Building Block manages and plays Shareable Content Object (SCO) package files that contain interactive content and are supported in both Classic and Ultra Course Views in Blackboard. This article will walk you through copying an existing SCORM file from your Classic course to your Ultra course.
Procedure
SCORM package files are often created by private companies, such as textbook publishers and can be uploaded into your course in both the Classic and Ultra Course Views. If you already have a SCORM file in your Classic course, follow the instructions below to copy it into your Ultra course.
- Click into the Classic view course which contains the SCORM package.
- If the SCORM item is not in its own menu item, you will need to create a menu item by clicking the plus sign at the top of the menu. Click Content Area. Enter a title, for example, SCORM Test, and click Submit.
- Go to where the SCORM item currently is, click the grey drop down arrow next to the title and click Move. Click Browse for a Destination Folder. Click the new content area you created. Click Submit.
- Confirm that the SCORM item is in its own content area by clicking the new content area. You can now copy it into your Ultra course.
- Under Course Management, click Packages and Utilities, then click Course Copy.
- In the Course Copy page, click Browse for a Destination Course ID. Select the Ultra course you want to copy the SCORM file to. Click Submit.
- Under Select Course Materials, look under Content Areas and check the box corresponding to the SCORM content area you created.
- Click Submit.
- Check the Ultra course you copied the SCORM item into. The Content Area it was within will copy over as a folder, and your SCORM item will be within that folder.
