Zoom Rooms Classroom Basic Operation

When to Use?

This article is designed to explain what a Zoom Room and how to get started using an existing room. Zoom Rooms is a software-based room system that provides an integrated experience for audio conferencing, wireless screen sharing, and video conferencing. Zoom Rooms can be used for room-only attendees, or remote attendees joining from another room, from their desktop, or from their mobile device. Many of the resources provided in this article are direct from Zoom and when clicked on will refer to external resources. 

Procedure

Shown below this the Zoom Rooms Controller, these may be mounted on a wall, found on the instructor's station or on a conference room table.

How to start or join a meeting

  1. Tap Home on the controller, then tap New Meeting to start a meeting.
  2. Tap Join on the controller and enter in a meeting ID to join someone else's meeting.

How to start a scheduled meeting as the host

  1. Tap Home on the Zoom Room controller.
  2. Tap the topic of your scheduled meeting. Note: If the Zoom Room has not been included as a resource the meeting will not show.
  3. Tap Start.

How to start an instant meeting

  1. Tap Contacts in the left panel.
  2. Tap a contact you want to meet with 
  3. Tap Meet to start an instant meeting.

How to join a meeting using the meeting ID

  1. Tap Home in the left panel.
  2. Tap Join and enter the meeting ID using the number pad.
  3. Tap Join.

How to join a meeting using meeting history

  1. Tap Home in the left panel.
  2. Tap Join then tap the  icon to display recently-joined meetings.
  3. Tap the meeting topic to join.
