When to Use?
The first part will help when you want to login to a a new device, program or app. The second part will help if you cannot access a Trusted Device to get into 1Password or devices no longer show up as trusted.
Procedure
Getting a Verification Code

When logging into a device for the first time, you will need to verify the device or web browser that is already a Trusted Devices. Trusted Devices are places you already successfully logged into. This could be the first place you logged into https://gvsu-edu.1password.com/ or some where else you have already added. First you will a notification on the device you are signing into asking for a code, then on a Trusted Device you will see a box asking you to allow the device and then a code to enter.

If you do not there may be a red bell alert on the upper right side of the page indicating a recent device has attempted to log in. Click the red bell to take you to your ‘My Profile" page.

- After you enter the code it will make what ever you are signing into a Trusted Device.
Unable to access account and can't get to a Trusted Device
If you can't get into 1password and you don't have access to a Trusted Device for what ever reason then you can do account Recovery to gain access again.
- Put in a ticket and IT security will start the Recovery process.
- Once started it will send you an email.

- Clicking the link in the email will load the following page for you and send an email to IT Security asking them to finish the recovery process.
- After they have finished you will get an email letting you know it's done and be able to log back into the browser that was used to open the the page from the recovery email.

- From there you can add devices again as trusted used the above process. We recommend getting the mobile app as it will allow you to sign in no matter where you are as long as you have your phone on you.
