Blackbaud University Online Training
In preparation for using Raiser's Edge NXT (RE NXT), you will need to complete the online Raiser’s Edge Fundamentals training.
ACCESS to Blackbaud University
New Users: You should have received an invitation from Blackbaud to log in to Blackbaud University. Please log in within 3-5 days to activate your account.

If you have not received an invitation or have an issue, please submit a request in the Service Portal to University Development, and a team member will be in touch.
STEPS
- Start by logging into Blackbaud University with your BBID
- Click on “Product Catalogs”
- Click View Courses for “Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT” for a listing of the fundamentals required training courses
- You can sign up for the online courses (see list below) to fit your schedule. The classes fill up quickly so please schedule them soon to get the dates and times you would like.
- If you need additional information to get started, please submit a request to University Development.
You are required to at least watch the eLearning courses.

Train the Trainer Model for Raiser's Edge NXT (RE NXT)
The Purpose of the Train the Trainer Model is to simply train trainers to deliver training materials to other employees in their area. To prepare them to present information effectively, respond to Trainees' questions, and lead activities that reinforce how to use Raiser’s Edge NXT.
University Development “RE NXT Trainers" have been identified as training leads who have been trained and can train others. Trainers have either been through training or watched the training videos and are using Raiser’s Edge NXT. These trainers should be able to guide others in their area on how to use RE NXT for their department and division's needs. If there is not a Trainer in your department check within your division.
TRAINING STEPS
As part of your onboarding contact Ashley Spicer or your supervisor to connect you with an RE NXT Trainer.
- The Trainer should meet with the Trainee and provide a Training Plan (see guide below)
- Have the Trainees watch the required eLearning fundamental training videos
- Share the Raiser's Edge NXT Support Resource knowledge base article with the Trainee
TRAINING PLAN GUIDE
Consider providing the Trainee(s) with an Action Plan and include the following elements:
- Include goals, schedule, due dates, meetings, etc.
- Schedule time for the Trainee to watch the training videos
- Schedule time for the Trainee to practice in the sandbox environment
- Schedule time for feedback and Q&A with the Trainer
- Schedule work sessions or give the Trainee(s) homework to practice in the sandbox environment
