When to Use?
Our support team has noticed that when users attempt to update an R package used within an active dataset (or a package with dependencies in the active dataset), you might receive the following error:

(Rstudio Initialization Error: Error occurred during transmission)
Fortunately, you can start a new Rstudio session on your own.
Procedure
When prompted with “error occurred during transmission”

Clear your web browser’s caches:
Clear Caches - Google Chrome
Clear Caches - Firefox

Go to rstudio.gvsu.edu/home in your Web Browser

If prompted, log in

If there are active sessions, choose the Quit All option at the top of the page to quit them

Check the box to Force Quit and click the Quit Session button

Click New Session

You should now have a new RStudio Session
