When to Use?
When you need to maintain original image quality when sharing files using Microsoft Teams. Naively, Microsoft Teams will compress images to save space and bandwidth. This is not a feature that can be disabled, as Microsoft designed the application that way.
Procedure
When you attempt to send an image file, you will no longer send the image directly. You will need to send a link to the file within Microsoft OneDrive. This is the only way I have found to maintain the original image quality when sending an image. To send the OneDrive link, please follow these steps:
1. Find the file you want to share in Microsoft OneDrive.
Note: This can be done using the OneDrive desktop client, mobile app, or web client. For this example, we will be using the desktop client.

2. Right-click the image. In the menu that appears, hover over OneDrive, then click Share.

3. Change the share options according to your specific needs by clicking the gear icon next to the Copy link button.

4. Click the Copy link button.

5. Paste the copied link into the Microsoft Teams chat where you are attempting to send the image. You can do this by right clicking the Type a message field and then clicking the Paste option, or by pressing the Ctrl key and the V key (Windows) or the command key and the V key (Mac) simultaneously.

Note: There will be a preview image; it is best practice to delete the preview image, as it will display the compressed image file. To delete the preview image, hover over it and click the X (Close) button in the top right.

6. Send the message by pressing the Enter key (Windows) or the Return key (Mac), or by pressing the Send button.

7. The receiver will need to click the link you sent; this will take them to a preview of the image.

8. For the receiver to see the original image quality, they will need to click the three dots in the top left corner of the image preview screen. In the menu that appears, they will need to click View original.

The receiver will now see the image you sent at its original quality.
