Using Adobe Express to Edit and Convert PDFs

What is Adobe Express?

Adobe Express is an easy-to-use, web-based tool that allows you to work with PDF files without installing software. With your GVSU account, you have free access to PDF editing features right in your browser.

Accessing Adobe Express

  1. Go to https://express.adobe.com/

  2. Enter your GVSU email address (e.g., yourusername@mail.gvsu.edu) and click Continue

  3. Choose Company or School Account if prompted

  4. Log in with your GVSU credentials when redirected to the GVSU sign-in page

Tip: If you're signed into another Adobe account (like a personal one), make sure to sign out or switch to your GVSU account to access all features.

Navigating to PDF Tools

After logging in:

  1. You’ll land on the Adobe Express homepage.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click “Express” (if not already selected).

  3. On the homepage, scroll down to the Quick edits section.

  4. Click “View all” next to Quick edits.

  5. In the panel that opens, select “Document” from the left-hand menu.

  6. Under Document Quick Actions, choose the tool you need:

    • Convert to PDF
    • Edit PDF
    • Combine Files (to merge PDFs)
    • Additional tools shown: Organize Pages, Convert from PDF, Convert to JPG

✅ These tools open directly in your browser — no installation required.

In the Quick Edit menu, the "Document" submenu is selected. Useful Quick Actions are shown here, with the "Convert to PDF", "Edit PDF", and "Combine Files" explicitly outlined as useful tools.


Converting a File to PDF

  1. Under the Document tab, click Convert to PDF

  2. Upload your file (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, JPG)

  3. Adobe Express will automatically convert it to PDF

  4. Click Download to save the file


Editing a PDF

  1. Under the Document tab, click Edit PDF

  2. Upload your PDF file

  3. Use the editing options to:

    • Add or remove text

    • Insert images

    • Highlight or annotate

  4. Click Download to save your updated PDF


Combining Multiple PDFs

  1. Under the Document tab, click Combine Files

  2. Upload two or more PDF files

  3. Drag the files to reorder them, if needed

  4. Click Combine

  5. Download the merged PDF
