Overview
When you switch to Windows 11, your Private-Drive data is moved to OneDrive. This means that if you use a Windows 10 lab or classroom computer, you won’t see your Private-Drive like before. Instead, you need to log into OneDrive to get your files.
Steps to Access Your Files
-
Open a Web Browser
- On the Windows 10 lab computer, open Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Firefox.
-
Go to Office 365
-
Log Into Your Account
- Click Sign in (top right corner).
- Enter your university email and password.
- Complete multi-factor authentication.
-
Find Your OneDrive Files
- After logging in, click the OneDrive icon in the Office 365 dashboard.
- This is where your Private-Drive files are now stored.

-
Open or Save Your Files
- You can open, edit, and save your files in OneDrive.
- If needed, you can download a file to the Windows 10 lab computer, but be sure to upload changes back to OneDrive before logging out.
Important Reminders
- Your files are no longer synced to your Private-Drive—you must use OneDrive.
- Always sign out when you're done to keep your files safe.
- If you encounter issues accessing OneDrive, check that you are logged into your university Microsoft 365 account.
