How to: Change Taskbar Settings in Windows 11

Overview

This guide will show you how to change taskbar settings in Windows 11. You can move the taskbar buttons, hide the taskbar, and show it on multiple screens.

Steps to Change Taskbar Settings

1. Open Taskbar Settings

  1. Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar.
  2. Click Taskbar settings from the menu.
    After a user right-clicks the taskbar, the taskbar settings is shown as the second option. It is circled in the screenshot.

2. Change Taskbar Options

You will see different settings you can change:

  • Move Taskbar Buttons (Alignment)
    1. Scroll down to Taskbar behaviors.
    2. Find Taskbar alignment and choose Left or Center from the dropdown menu.
  • Hide the Taskbar Automatically
    1. Scroll down to Taskbar behaviors.
    2. Check the box for Automatically hide the taskbar to make it disappear when not in use.
  • Show Taskbar on All Screens
    1. If you have more than one screen, scroll to Taskbar behaviors.
    2. Check Show my taskbar on all displays to make it appear on every screen.

The taskbar behaviors menu is selected in this screenshot. Taskbar alignment is circled, along with "automatically hide the task bar". For the multiple displays option, a box encircles "all taskbars".
