Troubleshooting VirtualBox Installation: Fatal Error

When to Use?

This knowledge article should be referred to when encountering the fatal error during VirtualBox installation, particularly if a USB drive or hub is plugged in at the time of installation.

Procedure

1. Disconnect the USB Device:
   • Before starting the installation, unplug any USB drives or hubs from the system. 
2. Reattempt Installation

3. Reboot and Retry:
   • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​If the error persists after disconnecting the USB devices, try rebooting the system and attempting the installation again. 
4. Report the issue:
   • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​If the issue is still unresolved after following these steps, please report the issue for further investigation. 

Preventive Measure:
