Microsoft PowerBI, Project, & Visio Requests

When to Use?

When a request comes in to be granted a license to access Microsoft PowerBI, Project or Visio.  A reference to this KB will but submitted by IT Operations with the ticket after granting the license.  To request to purchase Microsoft Project or Microsoft Visio, please use the Software Acquisition Request ticket.

Procedure

• Microsoft PowerBI: First, complete a Applications Access Request indicating Power BI as the desired software. The shortcut to gain access to and download Microsoft PowerBI is here: Microsoft PowerBI  You will have to “Sign in” with your normal GVSU account and password to get access to the Microsoft PowerBi software. 

• Microsoft Project: After four hours of ticket remaining in “Resolved” status, the user’s account will be added to OFFICE-M365-PROJECT-LICENSED-USERS Active Directory group. Please wait a minimum of four hours before trying to download and login. The shortcut to gain access to the web version of Microsoft Project is here: Microsoft Project or if you would like to download the program go here: Microsoft Project Download. You will have to “Sign in” with your normal GVSU account and password to get access to the Microsoft Project software and under “Apps and Devices” you will have a download button. 

• Microsoft Visio: After four hours of ticket remaining in “Resolved” status, the user’s account will be added to OFFICE-M365-VISIO-LICENSED-USERS Active Directory group. Please wait a minimum of four hours before trying to download and login.
