When to Use?
When a request comes in to be granted a license to access Microsoft PowerBI, Project or Visio. A reference to this KB will but submitted by IT Operations with the ticket after granting the license. To request to purchase Microsoft Project or Microsoft Visio, please use the Software Acquisition Request ticket.
Procedure
- Microsoft PowerBI: First, complete a Applications Access Request indicating Power BI as the desired software. Once processed, PowerBI will be available for download through the GVSU Software Center on your Windows 11 computer, which is a shortcut located on the desktop. PowerBI updates are pushed monthly; users will receive notifications monthly from the Software Center.
- Microsoft Project: After four hours of ticket remaining in “Resolved” status, the user’s account will be added to OFFICE-M365-PROJECT-LICENSED-USERS Active Directory group. Please wait a minimum of four hours before trying to download and login. The shortcut to gain access to the web version of Microsoft Project is here: Microsoft Project. To download on your Windows 11 computer, Project Plan will be available for download through the GVSU Software Center, which is a shortcut located on the desktop.
- Microsoft Visio: After four hours of ticket remaining in “Resolved” status, the user’s account will be added to OFFICE-M365-VISIO-LICENSED-USERS Active Directory group.
