ShareBase

When to Use?

ShareBase is a versatile web-based software that facilitates seamless file and folder sharing while enabling effortless access management. This guide outlines fundamental tasks such as logging in, sharing files/folders, and tracking user activity and access.

Procedure

Logging In

  1. Go to the Sharebase website.
  2. You will be greeted by a login screen similar to the one below:

  3. Enter your GVSU email address and click "Continue."
  4. On the subsequent screen, input your password and click "LOGIN" to complete the login process.
  5. If you forget your password, utilize the "FORGOT PASSWORD" option to receive an email for password reset.

Sharing Files and Folders

  1. Begin by selecting the desired file or folder you wish to share.
  2. Click on the share icon located at the top right corner of the page.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Upon clicking the icon, two sharing options will be presented:
    1. Create Link: Ideal for sharing with non-ShareBase users.
    2. Share With Users: Suitable for sharing with fellow ShareBase account holders.

Create Link:

  1. Opting for the "Create Link" option will display a screen resembling the one below:
  2. Determine the access rights for viewers and set additional permissions such as link expiration and security by clicking "more options."
  3. If desired, add recipients' email addresses directly for quick sharing.
  4. Click "CREATE LINK" to generate the link.

Tracking Activity and Access

  1. To monitor the activity of a file or folder, select the respective item and locate the icon on the right-hand side:

  3. Review the detailed activity history associated with the chosen file/folder.
  4. Identify shared recipients by selecting the "DETAILS" tab and clicking the share icon located in the bottom right corner of the window.
