Dell Driver, BIOS, and Firmware Updates

When to Use?

Dell releases important driver and firmware updates to address security vulnerabilities, glitches, performance, thermal management/cooling issues, etc.

Driver updates often resolve problems with audio & video devices, bluescreen errors, and more.

Procedure

Navigate to Dell.com/support. Look for the Update Drivers button.

This feature uses the Dell SupportAssist application. Download and install the app if prompted.

When Support Assist is added/activated, you are able to scan for updates. Select Check for Updates under the Drivers & Downloads tab.

Download and install the recommended/appropriate driver updates.
Click "show drivers" to deselect any unwanted updates. For example, you may want to skip the BIOS update in the interest of time or if your laptop is not plugged into a power source.

Reboot the system once the files are installed. If a BIOS update was selected, it will install during the reboot. Do not interrupt the installation.
