Playing a DVD in a Classroom

When to Use?

This guide is to help use the instructor workstation to play a DVD in the classroom.

Procedure

Instructor workstation computer control panel. 

  Turn on the instructor station computer and log in.

  Select the instructor station PC as the source on the button panel (or touch screen in some classrooms).

  Press the eject button on the DVD tray.

 

 

 

DVD drive open in instructor computer.

 

Insert the DVD firmly into tray so it locks into place.

Gently press the tray closed. It will lock into place and the computer will begin to read the DVD.

 

 

 

Launching DVD using Windows 

 

  Press the file explorer button near the bottom left portion of the screen.

 

  Once the window opens, press ‘This PC’ on the list of options to the left of the window.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Menu to identify the filename of the video to be played

 

 

 

You should see the title of your DVD appear under the Devices and Drives. Double click the DVD. The VLC player will  begin playing begin playing the DVD automatically.

  The VLC player window may need to be maximized to fill the screen. Press F11      to set it to full screen.to fill the screen. Press F11 to set it to full screen.

To quit the player, press ctrl+Q
