Available specifically for school accounts, Google Takeout Transfer can be used to directly transfer your Google Drive files and Gmail messages directly to a personal Google account without the need to download files and re-upload them.
Takeout Transfer will copy items to your personal account while leaving the items in your GVSU account in place. When you've completed your Takeout Transfer, make sure to delete items from your school account.
At the Google Takeout Transfer page, enter in your personal Google account as the destination account:
Click Send Code and check your personal account's inbox for an email to "Verify your account."
Enter the verification code you've received into the Google Takeout Transfer page.
Once verified, you can select if you'd like to Transfer from Google Drive and/or Gmail:
Click Start Transfer to finish the process. Depending on the number of files and emails you have, it may take a few minutes to a few days to copy all of your files.
When your Takeout Transfer is complete, you can identify Gmail messages copied from your GVSU account will be tagged with your GVSU account address and the time of the transfer:
