How to: Install a Network Printer in Windows 11 (via Campus Printing)

Overview

These steps show you how to add a network printer in Windows 11.

Steps to Add a Network Printer

1. Access Campus Printing

  • Find the Campus Printing shortcut on your desktop.

  • Double-click the shortcut.

2. Find Your Printer

  • Open the folder for your campus: 
    • Allendale
    • Battle Creek
    • Detroit
    • Grand Rapids
    • Holland
    • Muskegon  
    • Traverse City

  • Open the folder for your building.
    • Example: Cook-DeVos Center for Health-Sciences

3. Select and Install the Printer

  • Find your printer name
    • Example: CHS288
  • Double-click the printer name.

  • If a security message appears, click Open.

4. Finish Setup

  • Wait while Windows installs the printer.

  • When the installation finishes, click Close.

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure you are connected to the GVSU network.
  • If you see an error message or the install takes longer than 5 minutes, you may not have access to that printer.
