How Do I Submit a Work Order?

Please pay careful attention to the following categories before submitting your work order. Specific issues are reported through different outlets, so identifying the right avenue will help us to serve you best.

Maintenance and Facilities Work Orders Show

If you need something repaired or remediated, including HVAC, plumbing, window issue, mold, university furniture, etc., please submit maintenance work orders to Facilities Services.

If this is a facilities emergency, and you require an immediate response, for Allendale please call 331-3000, for Grand Rapids Campus call 331-6700. All emergency work orders are defined as a situation that puts anyone's safety in jeopardy or makes a facility unusable. Examples include heating/cooling, no power, inoperable door locks, and icy walk/road conditions.

Please be aware that work orders may only be submitted while logged onto the GVSU network / WiFi.

Furniture Work Orders/Common Area TV IssuesShow

If you are having problems or need a repair of your university-provided furniture or need to report an issue with the common area TV, please utilize the Maintenance Work Order System as instructed above. You can expect your work order to be completed within 7 days.

Spectrum U Live Streaming/Cable TV IssuesShow

Spectrum U Live Streaming:

We are excited to announce that the Spectrum U streaming live TV service has replaced our traditional coax cable TV. This service can be accessed on multiple devices when on campus in Allendale or downtown when connected to GV-Student WiFi or Game-net for a TV. Please see the instructions below on how to connect to Spectrum U on your chosen device.

Connect Through TV

To connect to Spectrum U through the TV, you must use a Roku TV, Roku device, or Apple TV (Chromecast, Firestick and other smart TV’s won’t have the App). You must first register your device (Request Form - Device Registration (gvsu.edu)), which typically is a quick process during normal business hours. If you have any issues registering a device, please contact the IT help desk (616-331-2101). Once connected, you will download the Spectrum U App. It is important to note that there are other Spectrum Apps and only the Spectrum U App will work! You will not need to log-in, you will only need to accept terms and conditions, then away you go!

Connect Through Phone or Tablet

To connect through your phone or tablet, you must be on GV-Student WIFI. Once connected, you will download the Spectrum U app. It is important to note that there are other Spectrum Apps and only the Spectrum U App will work! You will not need to log-in, you will only need to accept terms and conditions, then away you go!

Connect Through a Laptop

To connect to a laptop, go to https://spectrumutv.com while connected to GV-Student WIFI. You will not need to log-in, you will only need to accept terms and conditions, then away you go

Computer and Wireless Issues Show

For issues with your WiFi connection on any device, visit https://services.gvsu.edu to find self-service knowledgebase information or submit a ticket. Please include your location, the date and time the issue started, and a detailed description of the problem, who is affected, and troubleshooting steps you've already taken. GVSU's IT Services team will assist you with your request.

Laundry Maintenance Show

For broken machines, students should call 1-800-342-5932 to report an issue. Visit the Wash Laundry website for more information or to download the service app for both Apple & Android devices.
