When to Use?
This article will walk you through using the Padlet Sandbox, a flexible tool designed for creative input using features like sticky notes, text fields, shapes, and multimedia elements.
Procedure
- Navigate to where the Padlet is located in your course. This will either be called a group project, Padlet, or something similar.
- Click on the document or the LTI link to open the Padlet.
- If the Padlet is embedded in a document, you’ll interact with it directly on that page.
- You can use the tools on the right and left to add, for example, text boxes, sticky notes, arrows, and more.

- If there is a link instead, click on it to be redirected to the Padlet page.

Using the Tools on the Sandbox
On the sandbox, all essential tools can be found on the right and left sides of the interface.
- To add text, click the T icon on the right side. Then click anywhere on the Padlet board and start typing.

- To add sticky notes, select the sticky note icon, place it on the board, and type within it.
- Sticky notes can be dragged around to rearrange them, you can add as many sticky notes as you’d like.

- To add shapes, click on the arrow icon in the Padlet toolbar.

- You can also use the geometry icon to add triangles, clouds, stars, and more.

- To draw a shape, click, hold, and drag on the board.
- You can also change the colors of any shape or sticky note that you're putting on the Padlet board.
Adding Links and Multimedia
You can also add a variety of content types:
- To add a website link, click the link icon and paste the desired URL.
- Add multimedia content by selecting options to:
- Record a video
- Record audio
- Capture your screen
- Create a poll, and more

Like sticky notes, anything placed on the Padlet Sandbox can be moved around. This can be used to create all kinds of mind maps or flowcharts.
