When to Use?

This article is to show you how you can upload/download files to and from the VM. Along with add your Google drives and OneDrive. Please note that you should always back up your files when using the VM. Once you log off the VM you will have 15 minutes to log back in before the VM shuts off and anything that was on it is now gone.

Uploading Local Files

  1. You can upload files from your local machine. First by click on the “My Files” icon at the top.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  2. A new window will show up and you will see a folder called “Temporary Files”. Click on that.

  3. You will then see a button at the top called “Upload Files”, click on that and you will be able to upload your files to the VM.
    1. You can also drag and drop folders/files to that window and it will upload the files for you.

Google Drive/OneDrive

The virtual lab has options for you to sync your Google driven and OneDrive to the VM.

  1. Go to the “My Files” icon at the top of the VM.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  2. In the top left there is a button for “Add Storage”, click on that button.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. You then see two options to either add your Google drive or OneDrive. Click on either of the sign in options.
  4. Once you have signed in you will see that in the files explorer your Google drive or OneDrive shows up on the left hand side.

Downloading Files

You can download files from the VM as well. 

  1. Go to the “My Files” icon at the top of the VM.

  2. Go to “Temporary Files”Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  3. Make sure your files are there you want to download.
  4. Select the ones you want to download by using the check box to the left of the file.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  5. Then click the actions drop down menu and click on “Download”.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  6. This will then download your file/files.
