Adding Goals to an Assessment in Blackboard Ultra

When to Use?

You can align a Blackboard Goal directly to these types of assessments in your Blackboard course:

  • Assignments
  • Discussions
  • Journals
  • Tests

Procedure

After Goals have been entered into Blackboard, course instructors, instructional designers and system administrators can make alignments directly to an assessment (assignment, discussion, journal or test) for accreditation purposes.

  1. Navigate to your course and on the Course Content page locate an assessment for adding your Goal Alignments. It can be an assignment, discussion, journal, or test.
  2. Click the assessment’s more options icon and in the drop-down menu select Edit.
  3. Select the settings icon.
  4. Scroll down the Assessment Settings panel to the Additional Tools section.
  5. Select the “Align with Goals” link.
  6. Please note for Discussions and Journals, you must first enable grading before you can align any goals.
  7. On the Discover Goals page. Use the Browse Criteria menu to filter and locate goals by selecting the appropriate Goal Set Type, Goal Set or Category.
  8. Click the check box next to each goal statement that you want to add (more than 1 goal can be selected)
  9. Click the Submit button and then select the Save button.
  10. Click the Goals & standards link to see a listing of all the aligned goals.
