Sign-In Error Troubleshooting

You may receive the following error message when trying to sign into GlobalProtect. This error usually means your account has not been enrolled in Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA).

To resolve this error, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://my.gvsu.edu.
  2. Sign in with your GVSU credentials.
  3. Follow the prompts to start MFA enrollment (you’ll be guided to set up your second factor; we recommend Okta Verify).
  4. When finished, return to the original app and try again.

For step‑by‑step enrollment guidance, please review the information in this knowledge document: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Students. After successfully enrolling in MFA, you should be able to access the VPN without the error. If the issue persists, fully sign out of the app and your browser, then sign back in at the app/website.
