How to: Disable Zoom Assistant

When to Use?

This guide will walk you through disabling the Zoom Assistant feature. 

Procedure

  1. While logged into the Zoom app, click your profile at the top right.
  2. Select Profile, then My profile. 

When clicking the profile picture or initials icon in the upper right corner of Zoom, a menu is displayed. The "Profile" option is highlighted in this menu, which then shows its submenu. In the submenu, "My Profile" is highlighted for users to click.

  • If you do not have the My profile option in the drop-down list:
    • Select Settings. 

When clicking the profile or initials icon in the upper right corner of Zoom, a menu is displayed. In this menu, the "Settings" selection is highlighted for users to click.

  • Click My account in the left sidebar. 
  • Click Edit my profile

The Zoom Settings window is open. The "My account" section is selected. On the "My account" page, "Edit my profile" is highlighted for users to select, which opens a new webpage.

  1. This will redirect you to log in to the central login page. Log in using your GVSU username and password. 

The GVSU single sign on page is displayed, showing that it is connecting to Zoom.

  1. Click on Settings on the left.

  1. In the top toolbar of the Settings menu, click on Zoom Assistant. Click the toggle button to turn off Zoom Assistant. 

In the Settings menu, Zoom Assistant is outlined in the top toolbar. There is a Zoom Assistant option shown where one can turn of the feature with a toggle button.
