Why Does My Blackboard Course Have “IP” in the Name?

When to Use (or Why)?

The MD, IP, ON, or HY in the course name identifies the modality of the course: 

• MD - Multiple Delivery

• IP - In Person (formerly listed as TR - Traditional)

• ON - Online

• HY - Hybrid

This is used in the assessment and accreditation reporting tool.

Procedure

No changes are needed unless the incorrect modality is displayed. Make sure the course is listed in the correct modality in Banner. Blackboard will automatically update within 3-4 hours.
