When to Use?

Use the EAC Goals Report to analyze student performance on specific learning goals across courses, programs, or time periods. It is especially useful for accreditation, program assessment, and identifying trends in how well students are meeting learning outcomes. The report also allows instructors and administrators to drill down into specific criteria, supporting targeted, data-driven improvements.

Procedure

Watch this video to learn how to run an EAC goal report.

Run an EAC Goal Report

Step One – Access the System

  1. Log into Blackboard and in the left-hand navigation menu, click tools, then select EAC Visual Data from the list of available options. If you see a secondary link appear, simply click it to enter the system.
  2. Once the system loads, you're ready to configure your search.

Step Two – Configure Your Search Settings

  1. At the top of the screen, select your mode. Choose administrator if you want to view program level data or select instructor if you only need data from your own courses.
  2. Look at the menu on the left side of the screen and confirm that Goals is selected as your data type.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow for the goal category you want to review.
  4. Continue expanding the categories until you locate the specific goal or goals you want to include in your report.
  5. Select a goal by clicking its check box. If you are reviewing data for specific goals rather than an entire set, always make sure to select both the parent, which ends in 0.00, and its child goal to ensure the report reflects the full goal structure and captures all relevant assessment data.
  6. Set the date range based on when the goal was scored and click Go to generate your results.

Step Three – Configure and Navigate the Report Criteria

  1. In the report that opens, adjust the target value if needed.
  2. The goals report provides an interactive view of student performance. You can select one goal at a time and explore the results across multiple criteria. These criteria can include a specific assessment, a course, a particular program, an individual student, an academic term, or the assessment type used.
  3. Each section includes a drop-down menu in its header. Use this menu to filter or change the way the data is displayed.
  4. You can also open the custom scale option. This allows you to create a scale specific to your academic program. You can define the number of achievement levels, assign names to each level, and set the scoring thresholds. Once enabled, student performance will be displayed using your custom scale across the report criteria.

Step Four - Export Your Data

  1. When you're ready to save your results, you can download a single chart or data grid. Select the download icon in that section's header.
  2. If you prefer to export all of the report data, scroll to the top of the page and download the report as an Excel spreadsheet.
