🖥️ Overview
After upgrading to Windows 11, your screen might suddenly flip to portrait mode or appear upside down. Sometimes, it also gets stuck and won’t rotate back. This guide will help you fix your screen orientation and make sure it's locked the way you want it.
🔧 How to Fix the Screen Orientation
🖼️ Use Display Settings
-
Right-click anywhere on your desktop and select Display settings.
-
Scroll down to the Display orientation section.
-
Just below that, check the Rotation lock toggle:
-
If your screen keeps rotating when you move your device, turn Rotation lock ON.
-
If your screen is stuck and won’t rotate at all, try turning Rotation lock OFF to allow it to move freely.
-
Once your screen looks right, you can close the settings window.
💡 Note: Not all devices have Rotation lock. It's only available on laptops or tablets that support screen rotation.
✅ That’s It!
Your screen should now be back to normal. If you still have issues, feel free to contact the IT Service Desk at it@gvsu.edu with your device type and a screenshot of your Display Settings.
