When to Use?

The "SSInvitationAgent Error" typically appears during the start up or launch phase of Respondus LockDown Browser and will prevent a user from starting the application on their Apple - Mac computer or device.

Procedure

To resolve this error the "SSInvitationAgent" process must be stopped in the in the Activity Monitor.

  1. Close LockDown Browser.
  2. Verify you are signed out and have closed Apple Messages (iMessage) and other messaging apps.
  3. Go to Finder Applications Utilities and start the Activity Monitor.
  4. Click on the CPU tab, click on the Process Name column to sort the list.
  5. Locate both the SSInvitationAgent and SSMenuAgent processes.
  6. Highlight each process and click the Stop button.
  7. You may need to select Force Quit more than once before the process will stop.
