When to Use?
As we switch to 1Password and you import passwords, you will notice shared vaults are imported as personal vaults. This is done as there is not a way to retain the original sharing permissions. If you have a passwords and other sensitive information you would like shared for collaboration purposes you will need to create a vault and manage its access. 1Password uses the term "Sharing" to refer to temporary access to a vault that will eventually expire and the phrase "Manage access" to refer to a vault that is shared with a user or group without time limits.
You can find their full documentation here https://support.1password.com/create-share-vaults/
